FORECON is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Forest Resource Supervisor to lead the company’s vegetation management operations in western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania for our growing portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will be located between Jamestown, New York and Titusville, Pennsylvania.
Principal Duties Include:
• Assist Chief Forester and Directors in all aspects of the company’s Forest Resource Services division, focused on safe and timely completion of vegetation & pest management services.
• Lead, train, supervise and develop the company’s general forestry work-team members and forest technicians in safe and effective pesticide & herbicide application projects.
• Plan, coordinate and schedule all vegetation management work.
• Deliver timely and accurate reporting for all Forest Resource Services division activities, in compliance with all regulations and company policies.
• Other duties pertaining to our current land management accounts, as well as industrial and private clients and new-business development goals.
Principal Requirements include:
• Valid pesticide applicator’s license. (PA and/or NY with ability to obtain reciprocal state license)
• Valid driver’s license.
• A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Forestry, Forest Technology, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences or Biology; or 2 years minimum of practical field forestry/natural resource experience is required.
• Familiarity and demonstrated competence with contracts, administration, compliance, and enforcement.
• Demonstrated competence in forest tree-identification.
• Basic knowledge of office software: Word; Excel; Access and PowerPoint.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to work out of town as assigned for 1-2 week periods (< than 10% of the year).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
• Competent with industry-standard office software: Word; Excel; Access and PowerPoint.
