Chainsaw Safety, Maintenance and Best Practices Event for the Public
Glen Underwood

The Northwest PA Woodland Association is presenting an opportunity for those interested in proper chainsaw use and maintenance to attend a workshop taught by Kevin Snyder, a very skilled professional logger and instructor.

Chainsaw Safety, Maintenance, and Best Practices

Saturday, August 13, 9:00 am to noon

To: The Friends of NW PA Woodlands

Please join us for the third event of the 2022 Northwest PA Woodland Association schedule.

Saturday, August 13, 9:00 am to noon

Chainsaw Safety, Maintenance, and Best Practices
9700 East Peach Street, Platea (Girard) PA 16417

The Connell Family are our hosts for this event at their Turkey Path Tree Farm about 2 miles south of Interstate 90 off Route 18 in Platea, PA.

Kevin Snyder, a professional logger and a certified instructor for the Game of Logging will be presenting a course in chainsaw safety and maintenance.  Given time and good weather, he may demonstrate best practices for tree felling.  A walk in the woods is an option for those of you less interested in chainsaws or after the class.

Turkey Path TF was started in August 2016 after the property had been (poorly) logged and sold to the Connell family.  The family has put up a barn for their equipment and we’ll be using that for the class (so no weather worries – we’ll be indoors).  TPTF is a work-in-progress, so your observations and suggestions are welcome.

The local Service Foresters and the Game Wardens are invited.

The public is welcome.

Please bring your camp chairs.

NWPWA will provide coffee, water, and donuts.

After the event, the NWPWA will be holding its annual picnic at the property.

Hope to see you there!
