Hardwood forestland owners have had the benefit of a geographically wide and diverse marketplace for hardwood timber for quite some time. 

While we are encouraged by the news that other Southeast Asian markets are developing for our hardwood resource (see article on Vietnam’s role in hardwood consumption), it is very heartening to hear as well that Chinese demand for both hardwood logs and lumber is apparently on the rise again

Glen Underwood is one of FORECON’s Forest Technicians and is based out of the Cortland, New York office.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture announced that 12 counties have been added to Pennsylvania’s spotted lanternfly quarantine zone ahead of the 2020 spring hatch.

Despite several logistical challenges, FORECON has remained quite busy, and most importantly, our staff has remained healthy.  We hope and trust the same for you.

FORECON is proud to be a forestry partner for the Family Forest Carbon Program. 

The Family Forest Carbon Program pays woodland owners to carry out specific activities (“practices”) on their land that enhance wildlife habitat and water quality, while also increasing the carbon stored on the landscape.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is making available and expanding eligibility for up to $1 billion in loan guarantees to help rural businesses meet their working capital needs during the coronavirus pandemic.
